Everyone on the Inspirers team was asked to try something new for the new year, and I opted to try some sewing. I had a great time and found a whole new appreciation for our very talented sewists. I used Love Birds fat quarter fabric, one of Sara's floral dies and some ribbon from my stash.
My post for Crafters Companions Inspirers team this week is a bookmark, using the swinging chick, and Blooming Sixties stamps by Sheena Douglass and grunge AquaTints.
After cutting a piece of watercolour card to size, I sprayed it with water and brushed the AquaTints over the top allowing them to blend into each other where the colours overlapped. Once that dried I stamped over the top with one of the flowers from the Blooming Sixties set. I was not very pleased with the job I had done so I went around all of them with a black pen (that's what they are for...right!) After stamping one of the Swinging Chicks in place and going over the image with a silver pen. I splattered some with and silver paint over the top and went around the edges with black paint.
A very Happy New Year to all, I hope 2017 bring great things for everyone xxx
For my Inspirers post this week I have made a card. Using a card blank, watercolor card stock, Aqua Tints, and the new Sheena Douglass Swinging Chicks stamps. I love these stamps, they are just so fun looking.
I cut the watercolor card to size sprayed it with water and dropped the Aqua Tints over the top using the applicators that come in the box. Once I was happy with how it looked I dried it completely and then splattered black acrylic paint over the top. While that was drying I stamped the ladies out, I was unhappy with how the ink looked against the paint so I painted over them with the same black paint before cutting them out. To finish I glued the ladies in place on the card and doodled around the edges.
